Progress is a wonderful thing

One of my twins is starting regular preschool tomorrow. She has graduated from the Developmental Preschool. The other one is progressing just a little slower.

Can Epigenetics explain autism's causes?

Before going into Epigenetics we first have to address all or most of the other theories out there. Problem with most theories, they all have holes or inconsistencies that thwart consistent provability. For instance, if it's Thimerosal then how is it cases have only increased since it's removal? And how about children showing autistic signs (like my son) since birth? Some say it's genetic, but that's utterly incomplete as well.

My little boy and his teacher made the news... good ones!

Parenting Special Needs online magazine current issue features my son's progress thanks to an amazing teacher he had two years ago.

My son keeps progressing. He is riding the school bus independently like a pro and he is 100% mainstreamed in fourth grade with hardly any help from his parapro.

Cheers!

Come Back to Me

This was something I wrote on my way home from the Chicago Autism One conference in May. It was the first big conference I had been able to attend. Friends helped get me there and back while my family waited patiently for me to return home.

Come Back to Me
By Cathy Jameson

Let the blogging begin!

I recently updated the list of "things we've tried" with our son over the past 6-7 years and wow, I'm amazed! I remind myself constantly of what Dr. Bradstreet says about how the road to healing our children is not a sprint but instead a marathon. That is the most frustrating thing about autism; there is no "one size fits all." Our kids are all biomedical train wrecks with different parts of their bodies being different cars and having different kinds of damage. Does that make sense? Well, they are just sick, toxic kids. That said, our new adventure is nutrigenomics.

Nonverbal Child To Talk Again??

How do you get a nonverbal child with autism to talk again?? I have tried almost everything!! My daughter is going on 9, and still not one word?? I have tried chelation, GFCF, biomed, mb-12, supplements etc... etc... Nothing?? Some people tell me stem cells works miracles?? Is this true?? I think you need to find something very strong to undo what they have done to my daughter. Mercury is the second most toxic substance on earth!! How can you fight that with biomed or anything else for that matter?? It like trying to fight a wildfire with a garden hose.

Looking for others who have tried IVIG

We've been doing biomedical treaments for almost 7 years and IVIG is something we've talked about, thought about, but haven't heard much about. Is there anyone out there who has tried this? What was the outcome? My son has had secretin, IV glutathione, tried Transfer Factor, none of which gave us results; at least not remarkable results.

It Was a Consequence

No matter what you believe spiritually, there is just no denying the following very real, very special and very personal account. I write this with no intention of starting a political or a religious debate, but rather to share truth……

Back during the 2008 presidential election, my then five year old son with heavy metal toxicity and subsequent autism, and I worked very, very hard to make autism obligatory to as many of the candidates as was possible for us. We met seven in all; however, I’ll save that chronicle for another blog, another day.

A day in the life......Part One

Hi Everyone! I am new to AutismOne, but wanted to get my blog stated!! I am hoping to learn from the many dedicated and hard working parents and professionals on this site. My goal for this blog is to be able to share a story or two on a weekly basis from my day to day life as an autism consultant. I work for a public school district in Massachusetts and I have been working with children with ASD for over 10 years. I absolutely love my job. Working with children with ASD is more rewarding than one can quite describe.
