New Beginnings

What a great week we had, last week. I hired 3 new staff, or team Members as we call them, for Noah's in home VB Program. I'm so excited to get them out here and get them trained. One has prior ABA experience, so now we have to get her trained in VB and move her toward that protocol. It's all so exciting. The other two girls have such great enthusiasm and spirit. And their willingness to learn is astounding. It's hard to find that right fit for a program like this. I interviewed about 7 girls and started out just wanting to hire 2.

Starting EDTA

My 9 year old ASD son has been doing chelation with oral DMSA for a little over a year, Now he is going to be starting EDTA probably this weekend. I'd like some feedback from other parents who have done this. Basically I'd like to hear about changes you saw, good or bad, with your child. I have been wanting to try this for quite some time but we were waiting on lab results from Doctors Data and now we have those. He tested high with Arsenic and Cadium and that really bothers me. We've been doing DAN treatment for almost 2 years and I've seen great results from that.

ACTS

I joined a faith-based mom's group just a few weeks ago. I had been moving like a robot for some time trying to keep up with my family's full calendar. I hated that. I do have emotions and some do pop up at the worst times. Like when I was being the cranky, yelling, hurry up get your shoes on because we have to leave NOW stressed out Mom. I was also the weepy can't get anything done right Mom while crying in the car in between appointments as I anticipate another busy day with no chance to rest.

Dr. Wakefield

Dr. Andrew Wakefield will deliver the keynote address at the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law & Advocacy at the AutismOne/Generation Rescue conference, in Chicago.

It is very fitting because Dr. Wakefield and Liz were great friends. It was a friendship built on mutual respect and trust.

Raised in Chicago and a graduate of DePaul University School of Law, Liz had to travel to the UK to find help for her son, Matthew.

TEMPLE GRANDIN

Hello all,

As many of you probably already know, HBO has recently com out with a movie about the life of Temple Grandin. I have yet to see the movie but have heard nothing but good things. However, I have seen this interview with Grandin several times and find it truly inspirational. She speaks with Patty Satalia from Conversation with Penn State on the influence autism has had on her life and specifically her work in animal science. Check it out and let me know what you think.
