Yes, He WILL eat it!
We've been doing special diets since Kyle was 30 months old. We started with GFCF, soon went soy free and potato free - those were 2 of the 30+ items on his food "allergy" test. We did SCD for a year, but he developed a nut allergy and we went back to GFCFSF. After a few years we let up on the grains a bit. He eats a little organic oatmeal and wheat every week. We've settled into a mostly casein free, soy free, preservative free, artifical coloring free, artifical sweetner free, MSG and excito-toxin free very low sugar and I'm sure there are others.

Anderson Cooper CNN; Tests reveals high chemical levels in kids' bodies.
Story Highlights..... This story aired quite a while ago, however it has never left my mind..
So-called "body burden" testing reveals industrial chemicals in humans
Many of these chemicals harm rats, but studies on humans are preliminary
One scientist warns modern-day humans are living an "unnatural experiment"
By Jordana Miller
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Michelle Hammond and Jeremiah Holland were intrigued when a friend at the Oakland Tribune asked them and their two young children to take part in a cutting-edge study to measure the industrial chemicals in their bodies.
Come out of hiding...I poke my head higher!
I come out of my hole to say "Hi!" *grin*...blink...blink...my son is tall as me...and parenting a high functioning, Autism, Aspergers, PDD...no one knows for sure...with ADHD starting puberty...is a full time job...and he turned 11 two months ago. I fell off the planet for a reason...really did, but the up side Kolin Sovern is well on his way to his dream...to have no aide in middle school...to learn computers, to drive a car, have his own place...and make his own rules in it.

Auditory Processing
Many parents hear that their autistic child has auditory processing issues. On my next radio show on autismone radio, on Nov 12th at 12:30 PM, I will be sharing a second show on auditory processing. Please join me at that time. Auditory processing is a higher skill than sound processing, both of which are important components of The Davis Model of Sound Intervention. I look forward to having more of you become listeners.

Are you a reference point?
One thing my life has taught me, being the father of two spectrum kiddo’s, is I am a reference point for all things, good and bad, to my children.
When my life gets frustrating, and I show anger, so do my children.
When I am in good spirits, being happy and boisterous, so are my children.
When I come home from a busy day and ignore my kids, they ignore me.
When I sit down with my kids and want to play a game and they protest, I must remember to ignore the outburst and keep working toward the behavior I want them to emulate. They reference my positive energy and begin to follow along.

A Dispatch From The Autism Wars: You Don't Have To Be Wrong For Me To Be Right
Recently I read a blog post on Wellsphere entitled, "I am not an Autism Mom". Michelle, the article's author, takes issue with parents referring to themselves as Autism Moms. This, she says, takes the focus off the person with Autism and puts it on the mother. Unless the mother has Autism herself it becomes a title: " Autism Mom. Two words put together to create a phrase, a title – and that’s what it is - that I really don’t like." I can't help to feel the sting of judgement - I mean, have you seen the title of my blog?
Testing in Manhattan
I will be testing in Manhattan at The Meta Center this Friday, Nov 6th. If interested in receiving our Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol, please make sure you reach out to us to schedule an appointment. Visit our website www.thedaviscenter.com or respond to this blog. The Davis Model of Sound Intervention incorporates testing to determine the need for any sound-based therapy. It takes the guesswork out of wondering if a therapy will help. Also listen to my broadcast on autismone.org at 12:30 the second Thursday of each month for additional information.
