Power Point Presentation By: Valerie Herskowitz, MA CCC-SLP.

Presently, 1 out of 150 individuals have been identified as having autism. Many of
these individuals are now children, however, children grow into adults. The question is:
How will these adults maximize their potential for independence? The key is through
accessing
technology. It’s important to start teaching these skills at an early age. Initially,
this presentation will discuss technological innovations of today and tomorrow that will
help our children to become as independent as possible as adults.

Data now exists that strongly indicates that there is a genetic subset of the human
population that is unable to effectively excrete mercury from low level exposures. This
leads to a retention toxicity in this subset at levels of exposure that is easily excreted
by the bulk of the healthy population. Autistic children and Alzheimer subjects seem to
fit into this subset. Research has shown that some subjects, primarily males, lose the
ability to excrete mercury exposure from dental amalgams.

Lindyl Lanham, DSH-P, BS SpEd.

Autism is not caused by one single factor. Rather it is, as with all disease, a culmination
of many insults, starting with inborn genetic susceptibilities, layered with physical and
chemical insults from vaccines, drugs, and environmental toxins. Uniquely suited
to unlayering these causational traumas in reverse chronological order, Sequential
homeopathy
and other complex homeopathic methods have been successfully
combined
in a systematic, yet uniquely individualized approach.

Treatment approaches grounded in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) are now
consideredto be at the forefront of educational interventions for children with autism.
However, research supports a biomedical etiology for autism and while studies are
conducted to identify exact biomedical pathways, many case studies point to successful
outcome with biomedical treatments.

Power Point Presentation By: Allan Goldblatt, PA & Judy Chinitz,MS.

For over a decade, research has been conducted at universities around the world into
the use of intestinal parasites to normalize immune function. This research stemmed
from exploration of what has become known as “The Hygiene Hypothesis” -- that is, for
millions of years of evolution, man lived in and with the soil and the microbes within it.
Once we became “too sterile,” this flora was eradicated and, thus, our immune systems
never were stimulated in what had become a normal way.

Power Point Presentation By: Mark R. Geier, MD, PhD and
David Geier

Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are apparently increasingly prevalent
neurodevelopmental
disorders (in some cases occuring in more than 1% of US
children)
characterized by impairments in social relatedness and communication,
repetitive
behaviors, abnormal movements patterns, and sensory dysfunction. It has
long been recognized that there is a genetic component to some patients diagnosed
with ASDs, but the latest research will be examined that suggests a significant
causal role for mercury exposure.

Power Point Presentation.

This session will provide strategies to become an effective political advocate for families
affected by autism. It will include step-by-step instructions on contacting legislators,
corresponding
with staff members, setting appointments, meeting preparation, making
your meetings as productive as possible and how best to follow up on your requests.
It will also include information on pending legislation needing the support of our
community
and ways attendees can participate in guiding the direction of federally
funded research.

Article By: Dr. Engley has served as
an expert witness in Federal Court. He is the author of over
Thimerosal - Over 50 years of known toxicity!
(Unsafe at any Concentration.)
Studies carried out by this investigator in three different laboratories, over 50-60 years
ago, showed that the mercurials as a group including Merthiolate (Thimerosal) were
ineffective antimicrobials both in vitro and in vivo.

The DIR® Floortime™ Model: Helping individuals
reach their optimal level of functioning
DIR® is the Developmental Individual Differences Relationship intervention model
developed by Drs. Stanley Greenspan and Serena Wieder. A developmental approach,
it engages a child at his/her current level of functioning and works with the unique
features of their nervous system and utilizes intensive interaction experiences to enable
them to master new capabilities.
