Let me extend to you my personal welcome to our AutismOne Social Network. AutismOne is now the “one-stop-shopping center” for information about autism. We have the annual conference in Chicago, AutismOne radio, the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and now the AutismOne Social Network (and more to come).
I notice that you’ve not made any entries into your profile. Remember, this is a social network. Part of the function of a social network is to meet and interact with others who have common interests. Of course autism is a common interest. But there is more than that. Individuals like to know about a person before becoming a “friend.” That’s where the profile comes in. So whenever you can find the time, please fill in some of the entries of your profile. To do that just click on “My User Menu” next to the Welcome area on the right. From the resulting menu click on “Edit My Profile” and you will be in business.
Helping you interact with others is one of the many things we can do for you. Now here’s something you can do for us. Log in on a regular basis and read the blogs and articles then write a blog yourself. It can be on any subject of interest to you, preferably with some relevance to autism but not necessarily. It can be short or long, whatever it takes for you to express your thoughts. If you have a question then ask it in a blog--people read then they respond. If you see something with which you agree or disagree then please add a comment with your thoughts. This is an open community designed to help and support. We like to hear all sides.
I am looking forward to reading your opinions in future blogs and/or articles.
With my best regards
Will Price, CFO

A Little About Me:

In November 1999, my wife, Stella, and I welcomed our beautiful triplets into the world. With two boys and a little girl, we were an instant family. Like most new parents, we had so many dreams for our new babies. The world was their oyster. It was such an exciting time in our lives.

In 2001, our sons were diagnosed with autism. Like most parents learning of this diagnosis, we realized life would not be the same. However, we were determined to give our boys, in addition to our daughter, the opportunity for the most fulfilled lives. We were proactive from start, seeking out the right resources, while trying to manage the daily challenges of life with two special needs children, along with a typically developing two year old. And, we were overwhelmed and often frustrated by the lack of resources.

Over the past nine years, my wife and I have worked tirelessly to find the best doctors, therapists, schools and other resources that would provide our boys with the best possible care. Throughout this process, we have invested considerable effort and time, and incurred significant expenses. I soon realized that we needed to plan properly for these expenses and for our sons’ changing needs over each stage of their lives; as well our daughter’s. This realization is what inspired me to form Legacy of Love.

Drawing on my over 20 years experience as a wealth manager and investment consultant, and as a father with autistic children, I am providing a fully-integrated, one-on-one service for a select group of families with autistic children. Our service encompasses a Wealth Management Plan for the whole family and an Individualized Life Plan® for the family member(s) with autism.

Why I am a Part of the AutismOne Community:

While there are many support groups for families of autism, few are dedicated to helping high net worth families with their comprehensive financial and life planning needs. Throughout our one-on-one relationship with the family, we will serve as dedicated advocates for the family and child. The relationship will ensure continuity and integration between the family’s wealth management plan and a life plan that addresses the needs of the child with autism through every life stage.

Just as our autistic children have an IEP to guide their education, they will also have a comprehensive Individualized Life Plan® (ILP) provided by Legacy of Love. Additionally, we will be there for you, the parents, providing the resources, referrals and a sounding board comprised of experienced compassionate professionals, always available to help you through a tough day.

I am confident that the services we are providing through Legacy of Love will give families touched by autism greater peace of mind in knowing they are taking all the right steps to protect their future and plan for their children.
