The Best Day of My Life - Happy Holidays and New Year from Autism One

Today was the best day of my life because today was the day I saw the most joy emanate from my beloved son, Ian. He went to sleep on Christmas Eve at a reasonable hour and with a new musical toy in which he took great delight. He woke up happy. He was delighted this morning with another new musical toy. He did the best he's ever done with unwrapping. He made an appropriate choice between two foods. He exhibited the most superb eye contact. He sparkled longer than ever.

Let's backtrack to earlier in the week. I had been crying about how to afford gifts because our family is financially-challenged this season. We live behind an apartment building in a driveway shared by five other rental houses and the one across from us is vacant, so its garage was open for storage. On Wednesday God pulled an entire U-Haul truck full of toys in this driveway because the neighbors know people involved with Toys for Tots. Wednesday night, someone knocked on our door and invited us to pick out toys.

We at Autism One would like to extend our best wishes to you, your children, and your families for hope and healing this holiday season and in the New Year. We wish you this joy and sparkle. Whatever faith you believe in, in this quest, we are on the right side. There are great things in store for the year ahead. We will move forward together. And, for the children, we will triumph.
