Linderman Live 07-30-09 No GI problems in ASD kids, Call-In Thursday
Originally Aired Thu, 07/30/2009 - 11:00am
We had call-in Thursday today with moms and grandmas expressing their outrage regarding the GI study from Dr. Emond et al and frustration at the medical community in general.
I would so like to rebut this study, and have already sent some info to the journalist at Chicago Tribune who broke the story this week. This is abysmal data and methodology. Expect more of the same from other sites around the US - I spoke with the lead PI at the Denver Children's Hospital in January 2009 for a similar trial, hoping to refer children in my own caseload to the study (who all have GI concerns large enough to impair nutrition status, growth, learning, or all of the above). Besides being sorry to hear that recruiting for the Denver site was closed, I was very sorry to hear that the study was being done in the psychiatry department, no GI MD, no dietitian/nutritionist on staff, and weak parameters for defining the GI piece. I can cite several design flaws in the study just published in Pediatrics and would be more than glad to discuss - shocking, and smacks of an agenda to simply find nothing. Contact me through http:.//www.NutritionCare.net if I can help expose the issues that the media isn't talking about here. - J.
My guess is that Big Pharma does not make big bucks with this diet and lifestyle to correct our kids' intestinal problems, so they have to try to convince the public that it is not beneficial.
If you ask me, it is just adding to the Great Dumbing Down of America!
Rebuttal to the GI study

More corruption within our "so called" heathcare systems!
