IN MIDST OF EPIDEMIC, AUTISM INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION'S
AUTISM SCIENCE DIGEST® TO ENTER RETAIL OUTLETS

Los Angeles, CA -- Autism International Association signed this month for its premier publication, Autism Science Digest: The Journal of AutismOne, to enter the retail market. Current estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate epidemic numbers of 1 in 110 children and 1 in 68 boys affected by an autism spectrum disorder, while earlier CDC numbers cited an alarming 1 in 6 children affected by a behavioral or developmental problem. To address the urgent need that these statistics demonstrate, Autism Science Digest will bring vital information about relevant research and treatment to the public.

"And it goes even deeper than that," says Teri Arranga, editor-in-chief, "because, according to a 2011 Academic Pediatrics report, 'An estimated 43% of US children (32 million) currently have at least 1 of 20 chronic health conditions assessed, increasing to 54.1% when overweight, obesity, or being at risk for developmental delays are included.’”

Autism Science Digest will zero in on the latest research and treatment, with applications to the burgeoning crisis of neurodevelopmental problems. "This is a 'no-fluff' publication," continues Dr. Claire Viadro, the journal's editor. "Children are suffering and dying. Families are being stressed to the breaking point. There is no time to lose."

Teri Arranga is internationally known as the director of AutismOne, which holds the world's largest and most comprehensive annual autism conference. Teri hosts a weekly radio program on the VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel and is a consultant for Skyhorse Publishing's yearly Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism book series as well as the co-editor of Skyhorse's upcoming volume titled The Gut is Connected to the Brain.

Claire Viadro, MPH, PhD, boasts dual degrees in public health and has lengthy experience as a public health editor. Lauren Underwood, PhD, a trained developmental neurobiologist who is also employed as a support contractor to NASA, serves as the journal's scientific editor.

According to Kim Stagliano, author of All I Can Handle: I'm No Mother Teresa and managing editor of the Age of Autism daily Web newspaper, "Autism Science Digest empowers parents and providers with insights and tools for success."

With so many individuals and families affected, find out how you can help your children, friends, and patients.
