Hello Laura,
I would like to welcome you to Autism One Social Network.
I too am a mother of a child with autism, I also believe to some degree that I am under the spectrum as well. Wow...that's quite a profile, as I was reading it I wondered how do you do all this? Being under the spectrum yourself, having two children with needs, a CEO of The -Autism Solution Center as well as taking care of your daily affairs I'm impressed and need some of that energy. I love your vision it's beautiful, I admire your passion and drive you truly are an angel.

About Me
Laura Lum Corby is currently the Founder/CEO of the Autism Solution Center, Inc. in the Memphis, Tennessee area and the Vice President and Educational Director for FAIR Autism Media. She is the parent of two children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as having an Autism Spectrum Disorder herself. She has a 9-year-old son who was diagnosed with full-blown autism at 18 months, and a 15-year-old daughter with multiple difficulties in the autism spectrum, including Asperger’s Syndrome. Ms. Corby is currently working towards her Ph.D. in Psychology and plans to return for additional medical schooling when completed. Ms. Corby is now using her strong medical and marketing background to address the issues facing autism and those affected by it. She has spent the last seven and a half years engaged in intensive biomedical, dietary and therapeutic research, as it relates to Autism Spectrum Disorders. Ms. Corby is actively involved in disability advocacy; (local, state and national) legislative issues and awareness; autism research, education and treatments; building community relationships and inclusion with those affected by autism and their families. She is actively involved as an advocate for her own children, as well as on behalf of others who are unable to advocate for themselves. Her vision is to provide an Autism Solution Center, similar to a St. Jude's, but not related, for Autism that can address the multi-faceted needs of those affected by autism, accessible to everyone, at no cost. Ms. Corby is also a graduate of the Partner’s In Policy Making Leadership Institute, a division of the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities. Ms. Corby is widely recognized as an autism/Asperger's expert and speaker at autism conferences and workshops across the nation in all related topics including, but not limited to, biomedical/dietary intervention, behavior modification, IDEA rights and advocacy, understanding Asperger's Syndrome, and others.

My children and the families we serve are my daily motivation. It never seems to fail that when I am discouraged beyond belief and ready to throw the towel in, I will inevitably get a call. Usually from a family encouraging me and reminding me what a differences we have made in their lives. I am reminded very quickly why I do what I do and the differences we have already made in the lives of thousands, even if we never did another thing, yet we continue on reaching more! I LOVE MY WORK!
I am always willing to assist anyone to the best of my ability. I try to make myself available as much as possible, whenever needed. My passion is really teaching parents to be the experts. Whether medical, dietary, behavior, education, therapeutic services, or advocacy, I am passionate about helping families access the assistance the need and learning to do so at NO COST whenever possible.
Let me extend to you my personal welcome to our AutismOne Social Network. AutismOne is now the “one-stop-shopping center” for information about autism. We have the annual conference in Chicago, AutismOne radio, the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and now the AutismOne Social Network (and more to come).
Thank you for filling in your profile entries as these help people with common interests find you. I'm very excited to hear that you're always willing to assist anyone to the best of your ability. That you try to make myself available as much as possible, whenever needed. That you have a passion to teach parents to be the experts. That is what this Network is all about..
Helping you interact with others is one of the many things we can do for you. Now here’s something you can do for us. Every new community requires a good hard kick start to get going. We need you to help us with that. Log in on a regular basis and read the blogs and articles then write a blog yourself. It can be on any subject of interest to you, preferably with some relevance to autism but not necessarily. It can be short or long, whatever it takes for you to express your thoughts. If you have a question then ask it in a blog--people read then they respond. If you see something with which you agree or disagree then please add a comment with your thoughts. This is an open community designed to help and support. We like to hear all sides.
I am looking forward to reading your opinions in future blogs and/or articles.
With my best regards
Will Price, CFO
