Dear Shelly,

Let me extend to you my personal welcome to our AutismOne Social Network.Shelley post your comment on the wall so everyone can read it, not everyone will go to your profile page. AutismOne is now the “one-stop-shopping center” for information about autism. We have the annual conference in Chicago, AutismOne radio, the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and now the AutismOne Social Network (and more to come).
Thank you for filling in your profile entries as these help people with common interests find you.
Helping you interact with others is one of the many things we can do for you. Now here’s something you can do for us. Log in on a regular basis and read the blogs and articles then write a blog yourself. It can be on any subject of interest to you, preferably with some relevance to autism but not necessarily. It can be short or long, whatever it takes for you to express your thoughts. If you have a question then ask it in a blog--people read then they respond. If you see something with which you agree or disagree then please add a comment with your thoughts. This is an open community designed to help and support. We like to hear all sides.
I am looking forward to reading your opinions in future blogs and/or articles.

With my best regards
Will Price, CFO

I'm struggling and need some guidance. My son is having sever SIBs. His forehead is a massive scar and even after all the CT scans and MRI's there's no skelital damage. AMAZING! It seems that overnight he started to hate school. The school principal would not allow him to go to school today so I am home with him and finding myself looking at residential places. I don't know if that is the right thing to do. We started a special diet 2 months ago and learned that he has multiple food allergies. The cost of the diet and supplements and food preperation has consumed my life yet I don't see how we can financially continue yet how can we not if it will provide even a small amount of improvement for my little artist? The emotions are high, the stress has peaked and the mom is beyond exhaustion. Guess i just needed to vent.

I become consumed in researching new possibilities that may be positive aides for my son to the point of physical and mental exhaustion. Sometimes I just need to say NO! He's amazing and he motivates me to do everything I can to allow him to be all that he can be.

Why I am a Part of the AutismOne Community:

Simply put, my son. He looks at me with his big beautiful eyes and says, "momma please help me". He tells me he just wants to be a real boy and that he's lonely. He is why I am part of the autism one community.
