TACA Mentor Program Attending a comprehensive autism conference can be overwhelming for parents who are new to the diagnosis or simply pursuing new avenues of intervention. Parents often need someone to walk with them the first mile. And we will. We will listen and help you understand the treatments and therapies as they apply to your child's development. We will help you make sense of the often-times confusing array of choices and how best to start helping your child now. TACA Mentor Moms & Dads The mentor program is based on the Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) www.tacanow.org mentoring program that has been so successful it is now a vital component of the conference. We have found that many families new to the autism diagnosis of a loved one, offering a parent mentor can help ease the frustration, navigate the confusing "system" and help jump start the family with action for their child affected by autism. TACA Mentor Parents will be available to help you in the following ways: ■ INTRODUCTORY MIXER is a great place to set the stage for the entire conference on Thursday, May 27, 6:30-10:00 p.m. New parents will get an opportunity to meet the Mentor Parents as well as other new parents.
