United States of Autism

To many so-called authorities, the situations faced by individuals and families dealing with autism are hopeless, as they seek to define for others what is “normal.”  Yet, in the face of such obstacles, some manage to rise above the fray. Who are these people and how are they changing their communities?

One man took an 11,000 mile, 40 day journey across America to meet families in 5 different languages to get the real story. What he learns along the way will change not only his life, but the lives of those he meets, forever. It’s a story about the best days that still lie ahead for our nation, the families, and the people who give America its heart. Learn more here..

New Documentary by Aid For Autism:
Recovering Julius Reese

One year ago, a tearful Mom struggling with depression and a Dad pushed to his breaking point and facing divorce, wrote down the ten greatest desires they each had for their four-year old son, Julius, who was lost to the world of Autism. Their anguish was reflected in the simplicity of what they wrote. These dreams, which to them seemed wholly unattainable, were sealed in an envelope.

Today, tearful parents unsealed that envelope and were shocked to see how far they have come is such a short time. Not only has their son made great progress, but as a family, they are healthier parents, their marriage is stronger, and there is actual hopes and dreams replacing the darkness that loomed just a few months earlier.

The Aid for Autism Project accepts and follows a completely medically naïve autistic subject for one year and documents the experience of implementing a standard biomedical protocol on video. The goal of this endeavor is to compel the medical community, insurance companies, and government entities to treat the biomedical component of autism like any other medical condition.

This movie will be followed afterword by live commentary from Celeste Reese and Dr. Dan Rossignol.
