About Me
I blog at autismmomrising.blogspot.com
Autism Mom Rising reflects my understanding that above all, helping my Autistic son live his highest potential is an occasion to which I must Rise. Anger, worry, despair, anguish - I emerse in these emotions daily, but they will not become my default setting. Seeing my son live his highest potential requires that setting be hope, belief, and understanding. So, this blog is where I rise, fall, and rise again - so that I can thrive in this vocation that reality has bestowed.
I am mother of a beautiful, seven year old boy with Autism and married to the love of my life. Always intrigued by meaning, mystery, and purpose I look for the poetry in all of life, including those things that are difficult. I am neither fully neurotypical or Spectrum (secondary traits): I have aspects of both but am comprehensively neither. For this reason I relate to the concerns of both the Autism acceptance movement and those of parents seeking Autism treatments. Since there are, in my view, so many unaswered questions about Autism I prefer to keep an open mind.

"Embracing The Spiritual Nuances of Life With Autism"
I have recently discovered the Autism One podcasts and find them tremendously helpful and useful.
I've since decided to join the community to nework and reach out.
I am a member of my local FEAT chapter. Having lived with Autism for four years, I now enjoy mentoring parents of the newly diagnosed - helping them nativate finding services, information and what not. Please feel free to contact me.
If your Autistic child has begun regularly experiencing aggression out of the blue please considering asking for a neuro consults ASAP. Your pediatrian may not know he/she needs this, as often it will be attributed to "that's just the Autism". This happened to my son for two years. It wasn't until I asked for an EEG that it was revealed my son was seizing 24 hours a day. His development had stalled and now that these are treated he is picking up again. Please contact me for more infomation or see my blog entry entitled, "Oh, That's Just The Autism".
Hi "AutismMomRising"
Let me extend to you my personal welcome to our AutismOne Social Network. AutismOne is now the “one-stop-shopping center” for information about autism. We have the annual conference in Chicago, AutismOne radio, the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy and now the AutismOne Social Network (and more to come).
I read your profile and am impressed--you sound like a very compassionate person.
Thank you for filling in your profile entries as these help people with common interests find you.
Helping you interact with others is one of the many things we can do for you. Now here’s something you can do for us. Every new community requires a good hard kick start to get going. We need you to help us with that. Log in on a regular basis and read the blogs and articles then write a blog yourself. It can be on any subject of interest to you, preferably with some relevance to autism but not necessarily. It can be short or long, whatever it takes for you to express your thoughts. If you have a question then ask it in a blog--people read then they respond. If you see something with which you agree or disagree then please add a comment with your thoughts. This is an open community designed to help and support. We like to hear all sides.
I am looking forward to reading your opinions in future blogs and/or articles.
With my best regards
Will Price, CFO
