Let the blogging begin!
I recently updated the list of "things we've tried" with our son over the past 6-7 years and wow, I'm amazed! I remind myself constantly of what Dr. Bradstreet says about how the road to healing our children is not a sprint but instead a marathon. That is the most frustrating thing about autism; there is no "one size fits all." Our kids are all biomedical train wrecks with different parts of their bodies being different cars and having different kinds of damage. Does that make sense? Well, they are just sick, toxic kids. That said, our new adventure is nutrigenomics. We had the testing done through Dr. Yasko and the result told us where to target our efforts. I test like this should be covered by insurance as the info it gives is so valuable! If it wasn't so expensive, I would have everyone in the family do to see what's going on inside ourselves and start helping ourselves heal. So, we've been on the protocal for about 2-3 months and have seen some new language, more attention, more moments of "with-it-ness." I'd say we are finally getting somewhere. I don't know how far by son will go, but I do know that any little bit a progress in the right direction is a blessing.
