Dear Fellow Parents, Families, Friends, & Supporters: Get ready to whoop, holler, sing, and savor the moment. Dr. Wakefield is fighting back! It’s everything we’ve been waiting for. On Tuesday, January 3, 2012, Dr. Wakefield filed a defamation lawsuit in Travis County, TX District Court against the British Medical Journal (BMJ), Fiona Godlee, the journal’s editor, and Brian Deer, a writer for the journal. Read the filing here. The ongoing and relentless slander, libel, malice, defamatory statements, and false allegations by the BMJ against Dr. Wakefield finally are going to be put on trial in Texas. Let’s make sure the jury - and the world - hear the truth. In our system, truth, at times like these, does not come without cost. The looming legal battle requires strong financial support from our community. Dr. Wakefield is a man of honor, principle, and integrity. We finally have a chance to fight back and show our support. Now is our time. Let’s put our team in a position to win and win big! Say “Howdy!” to Truth and Justice. Let’s kick it up Texas-style.
