Hope for Autism: The Berard Approach
From the parent's view, the presenter will provide her candid insights to the thinking/doing process she systematically created to deal with her son's autism. As a practitioner of the Berard auditory integration training (AIT) method, the presenter will discuss case studies and outcomes for children on the autism spectrum using Dr. Berard's Method. This special presentation will reveal a practical approach to dealing with autism, provide inspiration and hope to attendees.

May is a former registered nurse who initially suspected her son was autistic before he turned 1. By age 3, her son was formally diagnosed. Because services were not readily available and May's personal experience with auditory processing issues, she opened Advanced Sensory Educational Services, LLC (ASES) in Aurora, IL. May provides the Berard Method of auditory integration training; Interactive Metronome; Irlen Screening; and local resources to families affected by autism at the ASES center.
