Functional Medicine and Neurological approaches for ASD and PANDAS
PANS and PANDAS are becoming more and more common in clinical practice, which necessitates accurate and sensitive diagnostic testing. We will review what is currently available for direct testing of science-based biomarkers and additional testing that helps reinforce the diagnosis. Beyond accurate diagnosis lies the task of treating and bringing relief to these patients and their families. We will take a closer look at current literature and discuss the many factors and components of how these neuropsychological effects manifest. We will examine some of the therapies and modalities, as well as dietary, supplemental, and environmental modifications currently and successfully being utilized for addressing symptoms of this disease.
