Dietary Approaches to Reducing Symptoms Related to Neuroinflammation, Neurodegeneration and Autoimmunity (practitioner registrants only)

(Practitioner registrants only.)

This session will discuss the use of diet as part of a program to reduce neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration and autoimmune related symptoms.  Dr. Wahls has a personal connection to these interventions, having experienced 7 years of steady decline due to progressive multiple sclerosis, and even spent four years dependent upon a tilt recline wheelchair. She created a diet and lifestyle intervention designed specifically to optimize our mitochondria and brain cells which restored health and vitality, and now bikes 5 miles to work each day. This session will review her personal story and the dietary and lifestyle interventions she uses in her clinics and in the clinical trials she conducts in the setting of progressive and relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.  Learn more about her MS clinical trials by reaching out to her team MSDietStudy@healthcare.uiowa.edu
