Autism Support Services
My answers
I would like to share and help with my "small answers" for a big problem.
My approach with Autism is totally personal, shaped on my special friend and delivers every day some small steps forwards that I put together to reach a way to communicate; working with profound autism is a really unique experience and I feel every moment what is going on in the beautiful mind that stands in front of me. Is that a gift? I think yes. That is why I would like to help if I can.

Parents Just Don't Understand (singing Will Smith song remember that one?)
Something I have been thinking about writing about but haven't is the subject of extended family and their response to autism or a child who has autism. My family specifically likes to use food. Food represents love. So when my son who has autism can no longer eat the foods my extended family eats the choice has been to let him cheat, to force him to abstain, not to attend events etc.
How to Get Help… Autism 911
Autism One Social Network is a group of individuals from all walks of life that are available to assist especially in times of crisis situations.
Since we cannot physically be with you in times of a crisis, in collaborating with others, we have put together a few ideas to implement when and if times arise when you need HELP and have nobody to turn to!
Autism can absolutely push a parent to the brink of insanity we have seen that on the news and most of us parents have been there more often than we care to admit!
I received a telephone call from a distraught parent who lives out of state.
It takes a village, community, State, Country, and world to fix Autism. Thank you ALL.
What a week... WOW! and Whew! It made me stop and count my blessings. It made me realize although we still are not doing everything we can, we do do a lot. It all started last Sunday with the awesome Article in the Champaign News-Gazette http://tinyurl.com/napzje and ended with the crash of my computer network and twitter. It made me slow down and realize, even though it sounds really corny, we are all family. Even the smallest part plays a mighty big role when you are fighting for the brains, souls, and future of the next generation.
