I gave a copy of the book to the assistant director at Kathy's center. They handle all disabilities and also have a school for autism.

Something else overcome, another dream realized.
I once had a dream. It was of a little boy, maybe five or six years old. He was standing at the end of the hallway in pajamas that were slightly over-sized. He was carrying a blanket and stuffed animal and was emerging from the bathroom. It was very late at night, and he should have been in bed, but a trip to the bathroom got in the way of that. In my dream, I remember him looking at me with tired and groggy eyes.

Landau Kleffner Variant: What's In A Name?
Alex has Landau Kleffner Variant. You won't find Landau Kleffner Variant in the medical diagnostic manuals though. What you will see is Landau Kleffner Syndrome.
With LKS overnight seizures in the temporal lobes rob children of their speech. It also blindsides them with Autistic-like symptoms and severe aggression. Though Landau Kleffner Variant is triggered by abnormal electrical activity in those same areas of the brain and not full blown seizure spikes, it inflicts similar patterns of devastating regressions in children.

broccoli and the cauliflower
We got in the broccoli and the cauliflower. He read and spoke "broccoli" but had to have help with the cauliflower tag. That was interesting because the cauliflower tag had a picture and the broccoli tag didn't. So I know he was reading.
But a new trend is emerging which is odd. He's actually trying to stay out of the dirt. Unless of course he has new shoes on and wants to get me in trouble with his mother.
